Mindy Farabee and Arthur Africano came to me to design their business cards. A director of photography and a freelance writer, both Arthur and Mindy exist as individual freelance entities as well as working on certain projects together.
They were interested in getting business cards that related to each other in some way but yet showed their individuality.
Splendid Corp used the same color palette and type treatment for each card, but made each one individual to the client's specialty. Since Mindy is a freelance writer, her card plays off of the simple design style recognizable from Scribner paperbacks of the 1950's. Arthur's card is an homage to Saul Bass movie posters and titles of the 1950's playing off of the fact that he works in film and television. Since both are into vintage items and the classics, this was a great fit for their collective and individual personalities.
