Ok, so it feels pretty unoriginal to put M.I.A. up here. This is the album that everyone's into. But you know there is a good reason for that. M.I.A. is one of those artists who feels like the music of RIGHT NOW. M.I.A. feels confident and rebellious, ready to spark the revolution. With songs like Bird Flu, and Boys the party is getting started and the issues are being dealt with. She's sampling Bollywood and using the lyrics to Roadrunner, and its working. We're calling out all the false prophets and rallying the people, and we're wearing silver skin tight pants to do it. More evidence that the revolution is going to start on the dancefloor.

M.I.A. gets my applause in the graphics department too. Her bold use of flashing extra low fi animation, insane bright colors. and crazy collage seems radical, retro and new at the same time. BACK
